FAQ

Thermostats

Our NTC floor sensors have a value of 12K. This is also the default value for our thermostats for electric underfloor heating. An exception to this rule is the Z-Wave thermostat, for which an NTC floor sensor with a value of 10K is supplied.

First of all, you can check whether the wires from the floor sensor are connected to the correct terminals on the thermostat. If they are connected correctly, the floor sensor is probably defective and will need to be replaced. For more information, please send an e-mail to info@magnumheating.nl.

You can find the available manuals for our thermostats on the download page. If your (MAGNUM) thermostat is not listed here, you can always send an e-mail with a picture of the thermostat to info@magnumheating.nl with the request for the correct manual.

All MAGNUM thermostats are 1-to-1 interchangeable. It is therefore possible to replace your old thermostat with a new variant. Should the installed floor sensor no longer function correctly or be faulty, we would advise you to also replace it with the floor sensor supplied with the thermostat.

Firstly, check that the device (smartphone/tablet) with which you want to connect the thermostat is connected to the Wi-Fi network and has a good range to the Wi-Fi network. Also check that the Wifi password you enter in the app is the correct one. (The app will not display an error message if you enter the password incorrectly). The thermostat cannot connect to the network if your network has a 5Ghz frequency switched on. If this is the case, you can log into your network’s modem and (temporarily) switch off the 5Ghz frequency. Normally, the connection will then be successfully established. Once the connection between the controller and the device is successful, you can switch the 5Ghz frequency back on in the modem.

Programming the MRC via the App:

  • Go to the cogwheel at the bottom left.
  • Choose “Programme”.
  • Choose the number of periods (the number of chosen periods is the same for all days!)
  • Select the days (e.g. Mon, Di, Wed, Do, Fri) you wish to change (small dots turn yellow).
  • Set the desired times and temperature, you do not have to confirm anything.
  • NB: The bullets always turn grey again after programming.
  • Repeat this for the days that have not yet been set (in this example, Sa and Sun).
  • Set the desired times and temperature, you do not have to confirm anything.

To view the set times and temperature in the App:

  • Select 1 day and you can see the set times for that day. A weekly overview can only be viewed on the controller via MENU > Programming. Here you can see all the set times in the overview.

Programming the MRC via the thermostat:

  • Select MENU > Programming > OK > “Overwrite previous schedule?” > OK
  • Select number of periods (the number of selected periods is the same for all days!)
  • Select the days (e.g. Mo, Di, Wo, Do, Fr) you want to change (bullets turn yellow).
  • Set the desired times and temperature and confirm each time with “SET”.
  • The days that have already been set are now shown as black balls with a yellow border.
  • Select the remaining days (e.g. Sunday and Sunday) that you wish to adjust (the balls turn yellow).
  • Set the desired times and temperature and confirm each time with “SET”.

To view the set times and temperature via the thermostat:

  • Select MENU > Programming. You will now see all the set times in the overview. Leave the menu via the return key.

Our thermostats switch 230V to the underfloor heating system. When the installed underfloor heating system needs to be powered in this way, our thermostats can be connected to the system. We would advise you to replace the floor sensor with the MAGNUM floor sensor supplied with the thermostat.

Technical questions

Contact your installer. If he is present at your premises with a multimeter, you can contact us by telephone during office hours to take stock of the situation.

The heating cable (heat section of the cable), must absolutely not be interrupted. For more information, also see the installation instructions for your underfloor heating.

It is possible to switch multiple systems on one thermostat, if desired. This can be done by the heating wires of both systems to come together in the wall and to connect to the thermostat using clamps in a wall box and then there can be a connecting cable to the thermostat and both systems can be switched to a thermostat. The maximum connection capacity of the thermostat is 16 Amps. For a higher connection capacity to one thermostat, a relay circuit must be installed. If you would like more information about this, please send an e-mail to info@magnumheating.nl.

Commercial questions

The MAGNUM Remote Control in white (Polar White – RAL 9010) is included as standard with our electric floor heating sets. If you would like the S-Control (analogue thermostat) or the Remote Control in black (Graphite black – RAL 9011), you can purchase a separate mat + separate thermostat. The corresponding article numbers can be found in our price list or can be requested from your supplier.

Our products are only available from authorised E/W fitters, bathroom specialist shops, various web shops or Technical Wholesalers.
